THE PDP TELLS WIKE THAT HE IS STILL AN IMPORTANT PARTY MEMBER
The Peoples Democratic Party maintains that Governor Nyesom Wike is still an important member, and that the current squabble will not affect the party's chances in the 2023 general elections.
Debo Ologunagba, the party's spokesman, stated this to journalists in Abuja.
"The PDP is alive. We are active and are hard at work on our mission statement. We're putting together our campaign council. It will be revealed to the public in a couple of days "He elaborated. "Regardless of what we read in the newspapers, I can assure you that the PDP is firm and ready for the 2023 general elections."
"We tell our members and Nigerians that the PDP is here, the darkness is lifting, and the countdown has begun," he added.
Despite the party's crisis, party members and leaders, according to the official, are committed to addressing Nigeria's challenges.
"The key point is that this party's entire membership is involved. Leaders and stakeholders all agreed on one point: Nigeria is the primary issue, and we must save the country. On this point, we were all in agreement, including Governor Nyesom Wike, whom we considered an important member of this party." Mr. Ologunagba elaborated.
Ologunagba went on to say that the party valued the opinions and contributions of all Nigerians in carrying out its mission.
He also stated that the mass defection of politicians from other parties to the PDP demonstrated the party's connection with the people.
"You have seen a lot of defections into the PDP in the last four months, which demonstrates our connection with the people, and you have seen the effects on recent elections. Our membership is growing, and people are getting in touch with us "The PDP spokesman emphasized this. "What this means is that the PDP is aware of its obligations to Nigerians, and we are focused on the mission to save Nigeria."
