SPEAKER OF THE IMO ASSEMBLY RESIGNS
Kennedy Ibe, the Speaker of the Imo State House of Assembly, has resigned
Mr Ibe resigned on Monday during an emergency plenary session of lawmakers at the assembly complex's state house.
His decision, he claims, is the result of extensive consultation with family and political associates.
Ibe stated that resigning as Speaker of the House of Assembly is also in the best interests of Imo State's All Progressives Congress (APC) political family.
He did, however, reiterate his unwavering support for the APC in Imo State, as well as the state government and legislature.
Meanwhile, Emeka Nduka, a lawmaker from the Ehime Mbano state constituency, has been sworn in as the new Speaker of the Imo State House of Assembly.
