NIGERIAN YOUTH DIES WHILE ATTEMPTING TO RESCUE COW

 

Adamu Musa, 18, of Unguwar Magina, Buji town, in Buji Local Government Area, Jigawa State, drowned while attempting to save his cow in a pond.

While grazing nearby, the animal slipped and fell into the pond.

CSC Adamu Shehu, Public Relations Officer of the Jigawa State Command of the Nigerian Security and Civil Defence Corps, announced this in a statement issued on Sunday.

He stated that the unfortunate incident occurred on Saturday around 2 p.m., when the young man brought two of his cows to the farm and let them loose to graze on the nearby grasses.

According to the PRO, Musa rushed to rescue his cow after seeing what had happened, but he drowned, and despite the combined efforts of locals and NSCDC personnel to rescue him, he was not found until 1 a.m. on Sunday (today).

"The body was thoroughly examined, confirmed dead, and handed over to his parents for proper burial," Shehu explained
