Panshak Zamani, aka Ice Prince, the embattled music rapper accused of allegedly assaulting a police officer in Lagos, has been granted bail.

Ice Prince was released from the Nigerian correctional center in Ikoyi, Lagos, according to his lawyer, Folarin Dalmeida, on Thursday.

"His bail conditions were met, and he was released on Thursday," he said.

Magistrate T.F. Oyeniyi of Ajah Magistrate Court 1 set bail for the rapper at N500,000 with two sureties in the same amount.

On Wednesday, his trial was halted due to the absence of prosecution witnesses.

During the last sitting of the court, Ice Prince's counsel, Dalmeida, made no comment or reference to the absence of the prosecution.

Last Friday, Lagos police spokesman SP Benjamin Hundeyin announced via his official Twitter account that the music rapper had been arrested for allegedly assaulting a police officer.

According to Hundeyin, the former Chocolate City signee was pulled over for driving without license plates and allegedly abducted the officer after agreeing to go to the station.
