NIGERIAN MAN COMMITTED A HEINOUS CRIME JUST DAYS AFTER OBTAINING US CITIZENSHIP
The family is seeking justice.
Vincent Omalu, a Nigerian who became a US citizen this summer, was shot and killed on August 20 in Northeast Baltimore by an unidentified shooter.
It was discovered that the victim was killed by a single bullet fired from a gray or silver Infiniti SUV. According to media reports, the murder of Vincent Omalu was "random."
Linus Omalu, the victim's brother who was with him at the time of the shooting, disputes this claim. Linus told WJZ, a local news station, that the shooting happened on East Northern Parkway, just west of Fairdel Avenue in Northeast Baltimore.
He claimed that the shooting occurred as he and Vincent were returning from a cultural gathering with other African immigrants. "My younger brother is a sweetheart. We leave for work and return. Please stay with our family. I have no idea why he shot him. I'm just curious why he would shoot my brother."
He stated that Vincent was driving when the sound of a gunshot cackled. "When I heard that, I immediately turned around and said, "You hear that? Linus said he had to grab the wheel immediately after learning that his brother had been hit, and the vehicle had lost control and crashed. The suspect fled and has not been found since.
"At this point, there's nothing," Detective Donny Moses of the Baltimore City Police Department told WJZ. Linus said his family has been afraid to leave the house because the killer is still on the loose.
