HOW A LAWYER DIED WHILE PURSUING HIS HUSBAND'S ALLEGED SIDE CHICK
More details have emerged about how a lawyer and mother of three died in a car accident last Sunday while chasing her husband and an alleged side chick in Calabar.
The deceased, Claret Opara Bassey, had been married to Mr. Sunday Bassey for over ten years.
On that fateful Sunday, she allegedly received a call from one of her friends informing her that her husband had been spotted in a shopping mall with the alleged side chick.
She was said to have immediately driven to the mall in one of their cars. When I arrived, the husband was about to leave the shopping mall and was inside his car with his sidekick, Laticia.
When he saw the wife, he sped away with Laticia in the front seat, prompting the enraged wife to pursue them.
The more the husband accelerated, the harder the wife tried to catch up with the car until they reached the highway.
She was said to have lost control of the car and slammed into a tree, seriously injuring herself and severely damaging the vehicle.
According to witnesses, the husband made a U-turn as soon as he noticed the wife was in an accident in the rearview mirror.
While the husband rallied to save his wife, the alleged side chick dropped off and fled the scene.
The weeping husband was said to have apologized to his wife, who was lying in a pool of her own blood.
"He was apologetic before the dying wife and pleaded that she should not die. He rushed the wife to Navy hospital in Calabar where she was reportedly confirmed dead," an eyewitness told media.
