ADAMAWA STATE, A 22-YEAR-OLD MAN WAS ARRESTED AFTER STABBING HIS MOTHER IN THE FACE DURING AN ARGUMENT
A 22-year-old man from Adamawa State has been remanded in a Yola Chief Magistrate Court after allegedly stabbing his mother during an argument. The suspect, Ibrahim Umar of Michika Local Government Area in Northern Adamawa, was remanded in prison custody after admitting to stabbing his mother, Hajiya Lami Mallum, during a heated argument.
He pleaded guilty to the charge against him as contained in the First Information Report (FIR) read to him. The Chief Magistrate Court in Yola, presided over by Mohammed Buba, ordered the remand of the defendant and adjourned the case to next month, October 18.00 Court papers indicated on Tuesday that an argument, which nature was not disclosed, had ensued between the defendant and his mother last week, September 12. The argument degenerated into a fight in which Umar was said to have stabbed Hajiya Lami with a knife in the face, causing the mother what was described as a grievous injury. However, the woman who was rushed to the General Hospital in Michika is still on admission.
