GRAHAM POTTER'S DECISION ASSAULTED AN EX-CHELSEA PLAYER

Billy Gilmour

Billy Gilmour, a former Chelsea midfielder, has been left 'baffled' by manager Graham Potter's decision to move to the west London club just days after convincing him to join Brighton.

Gilmour joined Brighton on transfer deadline day and made his debut off the bench three days later in a 5-2 win over Leicester City last Sunday.

His appearance in stoppage time against Leicester would be his only appearance under Potter, who was named Chelsea manager on Thursday.

According to report, Gilmour has told friends that the only reason he chose to join Brighton was because of Potter's style of play, but he is now in limbo while the Seagulls look for a new manager.

The events of the last few days have left the 21-year-old 'baffled,' and he may be regretting his decision to leave Chelsea.

Former manager Thomas Tuchel sanctioned the Scot's departure from Stamford Bridge, stating to Gilmour that if he stayed at Chelsea, he would be given very few first-team opportunities.
