ACCORDING TO REPORTS, UNIBEN EMPLOYEES IN EDO STATE ARE AT ODDS OVER UNPAID SALARIES

Prince Carter Oshodin, a Data Entry staff member and member of UNIBEN's Non-academic Staff Union (NASU), has reportedly ended it all because of his dire financial situation.

According to reports, the incident, which was stymied by the fiasco caused by the unresolved six-month strike by the Academic Staff Union of Universities, ASUU, and Senior Staff Association of Nigerian Universities, SSANU, prompted Prince to call it quits on Friday, August 9.

According to reports, the deceased was completely depressed over President Muhammadu Buhari's administration's "no work, no pay" policy and decided to hang himself.

In a Facebook post in 2017, the deceased revealed that the nonpayment of salaries was affecting him and that he couldn't bear the thought of seeing his children go hungry, despite the fact that schools were set to reopen the following week. He felt there were too many demands on him.

However, eyewitnesses at UNIBEN said they saw the deceased begging for money from passers-by before he died.
