2023: ENUGU'S 'OBEDIENT RALLY' TOOK PLACE (PHOTOS, VIDEO)

Enugu Obidient rally

On Saturday, supporters of Mr. Peter Obi, the Labour Party's presidential candidate, dubbed themselves "Obidients."

The one-million-man march, which began at Michael Okpara Square, halted vehicular movement throughout the city.

A massive crowd, which grew in size as the team advanced, followed the team around the major roads of the state before returning to Okpara Square.

Commuters who face a herculean task in reaching certain parts of the state have turned to alternative routes.

Obi's supporters, who crossed political lines, marched through the capital city, singing solidarity songs as they went.

The rally was very peaceful because the excited participants behaved very peacefully.

It means that Nigerians will be unable to use their naira debit cards for any transactions exceeding $20 per month.

This comes as a long-standing foreign exchange shortage continues to sting Nigeria, Africa's largest economy and largest oil exporter, despite a recent surge in global energy prices.
