TWO SOLDIERS ARE FIRED BY THE ARMY FOR KILLING AN ISLAMIC CLERIC IN YOBE
Due to their involvement in the killing of an Islamic cleric named Sheikh Goni Alsami Gashua in Yobe State, Lance Corporal John Gabriel and Lance Corporal Adamu Gideon have been discharged from the Nigerian Army.
After being found guilty by a joint board of investigation established in cooperation with the police, they were discharged on Saturday, August 27.
Lt Col. Ibrahim Osabo, the interim commander officer in charge of the 241 Reece battalion in Nguru, Yobe State, informed newsmen of this.
He stated that two counts of failure to execute duties and behaviour prejudicial to service discipline led to the dismissal of the two soldiers, and that they will be turned over to Damaturu police for further investigation.
