THE COURT REJECTS THE FG'S REQUEST TO EXTRADITE ABBA KYARI TO THE UNITED STATES
According to Channels TV, a Federal High Court in Abuja dismissed a federal government request to extradite suspended deputy commissioner of police Abba Kyari to the United States of America.
On the grounds that the application is incompetent, Justice Inyang Ekwo dismissed the lawsuit brought by Abubakar Malai, the Attorney General of the Federation and Minister of Justice, in his decision on Monday.
In order to facilitate Kyari's extradition to the United States of America to respond to fraud claims there, the Federal Government's Attorney General of the Federation, or AGF, filed the extradition charges against him.

Remember how the American authorities asked for Kyari's extradition to give his side of the story after an internet fraudster named Abass Ramon, aka Hushpuppi, implicated Kyari in a $1.1 million wire fraud.
The extradition charges were filed by the AGF, Abubakar Malami (SAN), and are identified as FHC/ABJ/CS/249/2022. With the permission of the US District Court, a jury in America indicted Kyari in April 2021 and asked that he stand trial for conspiracy to commit wire fraud, money laundering, and identity theft.
The American embassy subsequently requested Kyari's extradition, stating that "on April 29, 2021, based on the indictment filed by the Grand Jury and with the approval of the United States District Court for the Central District of California, a Deputy Clerk of the court issued a warrant of arrest for Kyari."
