VIDEO: I OWE NOBODY EXPLANATION FOR JOINING APC - FFK FIRES BACK AT CRITICS AFTER DEFECTING TO RULING PARTY

Former Minister of Aviation, Chief Femi Fani Kayode, has returned to the ruling APC and that decision has been rumbling the media space since it was announced on his social media page.

Shortly after the announcement was made, the Former PDP chieftain who was once a staunch critic of President Muhammadu Buhari and his APC administration, was on Channels TV's Politics Today to set the record straight over the criticisms that have greeted his decision to defect to the ruling party having been one of the strong voices against the party.

Responding to series of questions from Seun Okinbaloye on the justification for his decision, FFK stated that he does not owe anybody explanation for his decision except himself and his family members.

Giving reason for choosing APC ahead of other existing political parties in Nigeria, the former minister posited that a lot have changed in APC between the time he was criticising the party and now that he had joined it. He claimed that he now knows some things he did not know that time.

According to him, there is positive result in the fight against insecurity. The APC he spoke about that time is not the same APC he has joined now. He noted that the APC of that time had no leadership but the one he joined now has leadership and President Muhammadu Buhari accommodates the change that is now attracting other party members to the APC.

Responding to the question about how his legion of followers will take the news of his defection to the party he has once criticised heavily and declare that he would rather die than join APC, the former minister stated that he is not answerable to anyone.

He pointed out that he would rather follow his conscience than think of what people would say about him. He claimed that they may not understand his reason today but later they would understand.

He, however, said that he would make his official defection in Abuja and not in his home state in Ife, Osun state.
