LASU STUDENT LEADER AND ACTIVIST SHOT DEAD BY ALLEGED ROBBERS
A student Leader and vibrant activist identified as Yusuf Nurudeen had been shot dead by alleged unknown gunmen right in front of the campus gate hours after appearing before the school's disciplinary committee over alleged admission racketeering and unlawful possession of university documents.
According to reports gathered, Nurudeen had been summoned to come into school on Wednesday, August 18, 2021, which was the same day he was shot along with a staff activist known as Majek. Although Nurudeen had been reported to have died after losing so much blood, the other person, Majek, is reportedly receiving treatment at a medical center.
However, it was gathered that was a student Leader in the Education Rights Campaign (ERC) platform of activists organised on Nigerian campuses to campaign for free education and had countless spoken in opposition with the school management.
It was also alleged that he was framed for being outspoken and this was the reason he had had to appear before the disciplinary panel, a probe meeting that was said to have been continuously
postponed since January 2020 before he was finally summoned on Thursday when he met his devastating end.
He was also said to have got married six months before his death, leaving behind a three-month-old child.
