BANDITS DEMAND N350M RANSOM FOR ZAMFARA COLLEGE STUDENTS, STAFF
Bandits who kidnapped the students and staff of the College of Agriculture and Animal Science, Bakura in Zamfara State have demanded N350 million ransom.
Alhaji Habibu Mainasara, the Provost of the College, while speaking to news correspondents said that the assailants put a call through to him and demanded a ransom of N750 million for the 20 people currently in their captivity.
He said: "They said that the money must be paid before they could release the staff and the students they kidnapped in my school."
The Provost did not make a further explanation on whether the families of the affected staff and students would pay the amount or the state government.
However, the spokesperson for the state police command, Mohammed Shehu, confirmed that the command isn't aware of the latest development but security operatives are doing their best to retrieve kidnapped victims.
