NIGERIANS WILL LEAD BITCOIN - TWITTER FOUNDER - JACK DORSEY

Twitter co-founder, Jack Dorsey has expressed his confidence in the ability of Nigerians to lead the Bitcoin cryptocurrency trade.

Dorsey made his stance known via his Twitter handle while reacting to an opinion piece written by Nigerian born Russell Okung, in which he advised the Federal Government to toe the path of El Salvador, which recently made Bitcoin, a legal tender.

Via Bitcoin Magazine, Okung said, "I write to urge the Nigerian government to pursue economic independence and financial sovereignty by pursuing a national Bitcoin standard. Soon every nation will be faced with this decision, but those who seize the present moment proactively as we have just witnessed in El Salvador, will enjoy significant advantages globally for generations to come."

Reacting to the piece, Dorsey wrote, "The people of Nigeria will lead #bitcoin."
