Tottenham head coach Roberto De Zerbi declined to clarify Richarlison’s status at the club, following claims that the Brazil forward is pushing to walk away from his contract.
Reports suggest Richarlison is in a stand-off with Spurs over the final nine months of his deal.
The 29-year-old was linked with a return to Everton, but that move fell through right before the Premier League’s September 1st transfer deadline.
Richarlison is said to be pushing Spurs to sanction a loan that would see him head to Brazilian club Vasco da Gama, with a view to reviewing his future again in January.
Vasco da Gama’s director of football Admar Lopes has confirmed the club are in discussions over a potential deal for Richarlison.
However, Spurs are reportedly holding out for a permanent transfer instead. With the Brazilian transfer window shutting Friday evening, that stance has left negotiations in a deadlock.
Richarlison signed for the north London club in 2022, but he hasn’t featured for Tottenham since their 3-0 loss to Brentford on opening day of the Premier League.

He was also omitted from Tottenham’s 25-man Premier League squad that was confirmed on September 3rd.
Asked if Richarlison had a future at the club, De Zerbi told reporters on Friday: “I don't know. It's not my job.
“What I can say is I know very well what the club has done for Richarlison and I know very well what Richarlison has done for the club in the last month, two months.
“I know, the club knows, he knows, his agent knows. Everyone knows better than you (the media). Much better.”
Amid Richarlison’s exile, Spurs have yet to win or score in the Premier League this season ahead of welcoming Everton on Saturday.
