Fiorentina Reappoint Paolo Vanoli After Sacking Fabio Grosso
Fiorentina sack Fabio Grosso and bring back Paolo Vanoli amid Serie A struggles.
Vanoli returns to Fiorentina three months after Grosso exit...
Fiorentina reappointed Paolo Vanoli as head coach on Monday, just 24 hours after sacking Fabio Grosso following a disastrous start to the Serie A season.
Grosso paid the price for three straight defeats that left Fiorentina bottom of the table. In that time the Viola scored once and shipped nine goals.
The move brings Vanoli straight back to Florence. He was the man who steadied the ship last season after taking over from Stefano Pioli in November with the club in the middle of a 10-game run without a win.
He dragged Fiorentina out of the relegation zone to finish 15th, and also took them to the Conference League quarter-finals. Their European run ended there with defeat to eventual winners Crystal Palace.
