The New York Yankees traded relief pitcher Camilo Doval to the Pittsburgh Pirates on Saturday in exchange for a pair of prospects.

The Yankees sent reliever Camilo Doval to the Pittsburgh Pirates on Saturday, landing two prospects in return.

The 29-year-old has posted a 4.59 ERA across 44 appearances this year. The Dominican right-hander has allowed 38 hits and 19 walks while striking out 39 in 39.2 innings.

Doval has been far better on the road, pitching to a 1.86 ERA in 24 games away from Yankee Stadium.

Outfielder Luis Cruz and catcher Omar Alfonzo are the two prospects headed to the Yankees' minor league system.

Cruz, an 18-year-old Dominican outfielder, is hitting .313/.460/.396 with 7 RBI and 7 stolen bases in 17 games in the Dominican Summer League.

  

Alfonzo, 22, has been in the Pirates organization since age 17 and was ranked their No. 17 prospect. The American catcher has played just one game each in rookie ball and Single-A this year, and is batting .239/.338/.420 with 9 home runs and 35 RBI in 60 Double-A games.
