The Philadelphia Phillies have acquired All-Star second baseman Luis Arraez and reliever Kaleb Kilian from the San Francisco Giants. In return, the Giants receive right-hander Ramon Marquez, the Phillies’ No. 4 prospect, and reliever Marty Gair.

Arraez, 29, ranks second in MLB in both batting average at .324 and with 136 hits. He’s also four homers shy of matching last season’s total of 8, and 27 RBI away from a new career best.

Arraez is on the move again. This will be his fourth team in three years, and he’s slated to hit free agency at the end of the season.

Minutes later, the Phillies made another move, picking up left-hander Brooks Raley from the Mets.

The Colombian Silver Slugger is also a three-time batting champion. Across eight MLB seasons, Arraez has finished below .310 just twice - .294 in 2021 and .292 in 2025 - cementing his reputation as one of the best contact hitters of his generation.

He paced the National League last year with 181 hits and 12 sacrifice hits. If he holds off Lopez and Houston’s Yordan Alvarez this season, it would be the first time in his career he leads the league in total hits.

The Phillies are also getting a bullpen arm in the deal. Kilian, 29, has a 4.29 ERA with 53 strikeouts over 44.1 innings this year.

Going to San Francisco, Marquez, 20, has been dominant in the minors. He owns a 2.44 ERA across 11 starts in 12 appearances, racking up 93 strikeouts in 59 innings between Single-A and High-A.

The Giants also land Gair, Marquez’s Phillies teammate. The 23-year-old righty has appeared in 30 games this season, posting a 4.50 ERA with 66 strikeouts in 36 innings.
