Orgryte Stun AIK With 3-0 Win As Christoffersson Hits Hat-Trick

Haksabanovic shines as Malmo beat Brommapojkarna to reignite European Push.

IFK Goteborg’s new-manager bounce under Joachim Bjorklund kept rolling as they took a key win over Degerfors in a relegation six-pointer. The victory keeps them just three points above the drop zone after Orgryte pulled off a surprise win against AIK. Elsewhere, Malmo got back to winning ways with victory over Brommapojkarna.

Bjorklund got off to the perfect start with a second-leg comeback win over Levadia in Estonia. But any goodwill would’ve disappeared fast if Goteborg couldn’t beat a Degerfors side stuck on four straight league defeats and winless in 10.

In the end, the hosts had little to worry about. The game turned midway through the first half when the referee awarded a penalty for Kazper Karlsson’s foul on Felix Eriksson. Sam Larsson stepped up and sent Matvei Igonen the wrong way from the spot.

Blavitt sliced through Degerfors seconds into the second half, but a brilliant Igonen stop to keep out Adam Bergmark-Wiberg kept the visitors alive. Goteborg were then indebted to Viktor Andersson, whose string of saves helped hold onto the narrow lead.

Goteborg finally sealed it in the 94th minute for just their fourth league win of the season. A half-cleared ball fell to Filip Ottosson, who smashed it in off the crossbar and left Igonen with no chance. The result moves the Gothenburg club six points clear of Degerfors.

Orgryte Stun AIK To Climb Out Of Trouble

Orgryte pulled off a surprise result to keep Goteborg only three points clear of the bottom three. Their convincing win at AIK moved them above Degerfors into 14th, and stretched their form to just one defeat in four games.

The hosts set the tone for a long night inside the opening two minutes at Strawberry Arena. AIK coughed up possession cheaply, letting Owen Parker-Price slip the ball through to Noah Christoffersson, who calmly finished between Kristoffer Nordfeldt’s legs.

Orgryte had a second goal ruled out for offside, but didn’t have to wait long. Around the midway point of the first half they worked it down the right and William Hofvander squared for Christoffersson to tap in his second.

With a bit more composure, the striker could have walked off with a first-half hat-trick. After Nordfeldt made amends with a triple save early in the second half, Christoffersson wrapped up his haul with 25 minutes to go.

It was Parker-Price again who started the move, but Christoffersson still had plenty to do. He carried the ball from the right, shrugged off the last defender, cut inside and fired home his seventh goal of the season. The other four had come in two separate braces across OIS' last five games.

For AIK in seventh, it’s back-to-back games without a win. The defeat feels like an outlier though, with only league leaders Sirius having beaten them in their previous seven.

Malmo Get Back To Winning Ways At BP

Malmo ended a two-game winless run and pushed back into the European race with an away win over Brommapojkarna. The result also stretched BP’s drought to six games without a victory.

The hosts should have led inside the opening minute, but Obilor Okeke fluffed a golden chance with the goal at his mercy. Seven minutes later Malmo had a penalty after Oliver Zanden fouled Anton Hoog, yet Erik Botheim was denied as Leo Cavallius guessed right to keep it 0-0.

It stayed goalless until the 51st minute when Malmo made the breakthrough in style. Hoog cut it back from the right to Sead Haksabanovic, who took a touch and curled a superb strike into the top corner.

Brommapojkarna deserve credit for how they answered going behind, and their equaliser 13 minutes from the end was deserved. Anton Kurochkin pulled it across the box and Kamilcan Sever was on hand for the tap-in.

BP couldn’t see it out though. With less than five minutes left, Haksabanovic threaded a smart pass through to Diego Garcia, who opened up and drilled low past Cavallius to put MFF back in front.

The win moves Malmo up to fifth, level with Djurgarden and two points off third-placed Hacken. For Bromma Boys, it’s now just four points above the drop and they’re in real danger of being pulled into the relegation fight.
