LeBron James free agency: Warriors, Cavs, Heat among teams linked to NBA star
Much of the talk around LeBron James joining Golden State centers on playing with Stephen Curry and for Steve Kerr after winning Olympic gold together in Paris.

On Sunday’s podcast, Golden State forward Draymond Green broke down how he tried to recruit LeBron James, saying he wants to team up with the NBA’s all-time leading scorer next year.
James - a 4-time NBA champion and 4-time MVP - announced he’s leaving the Los Angeles Lakers. Several teams are now viewed as possible landing spots for the 41-year-old forward.
A big part of the speculation around James joining the Warriors is about him wanting to team up with longtime friend Stephen Curry, and the chance to play for Warriors coach Steve Kerr. Both Curry and Kerr were with James on the 2024 USA team that won gold at the Paris Olympics.
Green recently spent time with James and said he used the opportunity to try to recruit him to Golden State.
“I'd be remiss if I don't take the opportunity to throw my pitch in there," Green said. “I'd be crazy if we're together for x amount of days and at no point am I like 'Yo, we need to chop it up. What the hell going on? What we doing?'
"Of course I did that and of course the pitch was crazy. Does it change anything? Does it make anything happen? I don't know. I hope so.”
Green is a 36-year-old forward, a four-time NBA champion who also won Olympic gold with Team USA in Rio and Tokyo.
Green said he doesn't believe James has decided on his next team yet, but added that he hopes his pitch got James thinking about what it would be like to play for the Warriors.

“With the things I shared in it, it's definitely going to make the brain work a little bit,” Green said in the podcast.
“I don't think there's a decision that has been made but if there was, it will make you think twice about it.”
James has also been linked to his hometown Cleveland Cavaliers and the Miami Heat, two teams he previously led to NBA championships, as well as the Philadelphia 76ers and Minnesota Timberwolves.
