Record attendance
Wimbledon 2025 drew its biggest crowd ever, with 548,770 fans coming through the gates over the two weeks. That broke the previous marks set in 2022 with 515,164 spectators and 2023 with 532,651.
Unbeaten runs for the ages
Roger Federer and Bjorn Borg both ripped off 41 straight Wimbledon wins, each taking five titles in a row.
Federer kicked off his streak in 2003 by beating Mark Philippoussis in straight sets to win his first Grand Slam. Borg started his in 1976 with a straight-sets final win over Ilie Nastase, the first of his five Wimbledon crowns.

Martina Navratilova owns the women’s record by a mile. From 1982 to 1988 she won 47 matches in a row at SW19, landing six consecutive titles. Her run finally ended with a final loss in 1988.

John Isner set the Wimbledon record for aces in one match with 113 against Nicolas Mahut in their legendary 2010 first-round clash.
Service meltdown
In 1952, Portugal’s Maria de Amorim famously double-faulted 16 times in a row during a second-round loss to Britain’s Susan Partridge at Wimbledon.

Roger Federer leads the men with 8 Wimbledon singles crowns. On the women’s side, Martina Navratilova tops the list with 9 singles titles between 1978 and 1990.

For total titles across singles, doubles and mixed doubles, Navratilova and Billie Jean King are tied at the top. Each won 20 Wimbledon championships at the All England Club.
The marathon that broke Wimbledon
Tennis history was made in 2010 when John Isner faced Nicolas Mahut in round one of men’s singles. Their match still stands as the longest ever played.
Isner finally won 6-4, 3-6, 6-7(7), 7-6(3), 70-68. The battle lasted 11 hours and 5 minutes across three days on Court 18.
Wimbledon’s speed kings
Giovanni Mpetshi Perricard fired the fastest men’s serve in Wimbledon history at 153 mph, 246 km/h. He unleashed it in his 2024 first-round match against Taylor Fritz.
On the women’s side, Venus Williams still holds the record. She blasted a 129 mph, 208 km/h serve during the 2008 Championships, the same year she won the title.
