Manchester City stormed past Brighton at Wembley on Sunday to lift the Women’s FA Cup, claiming their first title since 2020 and sealing a domestic double.
City cruised to the Women’s Super League crown powered by Bunny Shaw’s 21 goals. The Jamaica striker proved decisive again - after speculation over her future, she marked a new contract with City by netting the opener in the 38th minute.
Brighton, who had beaten City late in the WSL season but still watched them take the title, made a bright start on their first Wembley final appearance. Their momentum collapsed though when Alex Greenwood struck in stoppage time at the end of the first half to put City 2-0 up at the break.
