| Dahlstrom penalty earns Mariehamn 1-1 draw vs Lahti |
Mariehamn fought back to claim a point in Finland, capitalizing on Lahti’s wastefulness in front of goal to share the spoils.
Sebastian Dahlstrom’s late penalty secured a 1-1 draw for Mariehamn, ending their losing streak while Lahti dropped points after missing several chances...
Mariehamn picked up a point after coming from behind against Lahti, but they’re still stuck at the bottom of the Veikkausliiga table. Lahti, the league’s newcomers, sit just above the drop zone at the top of the bottom half after the draw.
Mariehamn End Losing Streak, Lahti Miss Chance
Mariehamn secured their first point on the Finnish mainland this year with a 1-1 draw at Lahti, bringing an end to a run of consecutive defeats. For Lahti, the result was an improvement on their last match, but after a narrow defeat to HJK, they had expected to take all three points against a side still without a win.
It looked like Lahti would return to winning ways when they went ahead in the 20th minute. Cristobal Montiel’s curling cross evaded everyone in the box before Martim Augusto nodded home at the back post.
Lahti created several opportunities to extend their advantage, but Romain Sans, Romaric Yapi, Gianini Dantas, and Mamodou Sarr all failed to find the net either side of halftime.

Their missed chances proved costly late on when Yohan Cassubie fouled Leo Andersson in the area. Sebastian Dahlstrom converted the resulting penalty to level the game as it entered the final 15 minutes.
Lahti looked more threatening in the closing stages, but their finishing let them down again and the points were shared. Mariehamn remain bottom with three points, though they’ve closed the gap to Jaro to a single point, while Lahti sit seventh on seven points.
