UEFA has banned Czech women’s football coach Petr Vlachovsky for life after he was found to have secretly filmed his players, the governing body confirmed on Tuesday.

According to Czech media, Vlachovsky was convicted in May 2025. He received a suspended one-year prison sentence and a five-year ban from coaching in the Czech Republic for filming FC Slovacko players in the changing rooms. The youngest player involved was 17 years old.

In a statement, UEFA’s Control, Ethics and Disciplinary Body said it had banned Vlachovsky “from exercising any football-related activity for life” after appointing an Ethics and Disciplinary Inspector to investigate the allegations of misconduct.

“The CEDB further decided to request FIFA to extend the abovementioned ban on a worldwide level and to order the Football Association of the Czech Republic to revoke Mr. Petr Vlachovsky’s ‌coaching licence,” the statement added.

FC Slovacko has not yet responded to an emailed request for comment.

FIFPRO, the global football players’ union, welcomed the ban and supported UEFA’s call for FIFA to extend it worldwide, preventing Vlachovsky from working in football internationally.

“This outcome sends a strong and necessary ‌message that abusive and inappropriate behaviour has no place in football and that ‌safeguarding the wellbeing of players must remain a priority at every level of the game,” FIFPRO added in a statement.

Vlachovsky had previously worked as coach of the Czech Republic women’s Under-19 team.
