Nottingham Forest are anxiously monitoring Morgan Gibbs-White’s condition before their Europa League semi-final second leg against Aston Villa.


The midfielder sustained a serious facial injury during Forest’s 3-1 win over Chelsea on Monday after colliding with goalkeeper Robert Sanchez.


Gibbs-White had the cut immediately bandaged and required multiple stitches, later posting a graphic photo of the wound on social media




The 26-year-old is now a major doubt for Thursday’s match, with head coach Vitor Pereira confirming the concern during his press briefing.


Gibbs-White has been among the Premier League’s standout attacking midfielders this season, tallying 16 goals and seven assists across all competitions.  


Forest will be hoping he recovers in time as they look to protect their 1-0 aggregate advantage at Villa Park.
