Matthew Stafford has agreed to a one-year contract extension with the Los Angeles Rams, according to multiple reports. The deal comes after the quarterback put together a strong 2025 season.
The extension keeps Stafford in Los Angeles through the 2027 season. The 38-year-old’s new contract is worth roughly $55 million, with incentives that could push the total to $60 million.
Stafford’s future was in question earlier this year after the Rams used the 13th overall pick to draft Alabama quarterback Ty Simpson.

The reigning NFL MVP set career highs in 2025 with 46 touchdown passes and 4,707 passing yards. His play helped the Rams finish 12-5 and reach the NFC Championship game.
Los Angeles’ season ended with a road loss to the Seattle Seahawks, who went on to win the Super Bowl. The matchup was an all-NFC West clash for a spot in the title game.
