Julian Alvarez Transfer News: Atletico Madrid Slam Barcelona Interest

Alvarez saga creates tsunami between Atletico Madrid and Barcelona

The Julian Alvarez transfer saga sparked a massive fallout between Atletico Madrid and Barcelona. Atletico mocked Barca online, then accused them of disrespect and lies.

Relations between Atletico Madrid and Barcelona exploded after Alvarez transfer rumors. Atletico accused Barca of disrespect, leaks, and using the Negreira case as a weapon...

Barca’s hints at signing Alvarez pushed Atletico to the breaking point. The club first responded with jokes, then turned serious and slammed Barcelona. Atletico accused them of being disrespectful and dishonest.

The dispute between Barcelona, Alvarez, and Atletico Madrid has damaged relations badly. Tension between the Metropolitano and Camp Nou is now so high that fallout could be huge.

It started with reports of a €100 million bid for the Argentine striker. Atletico Madrid denied the story and replied with a joke-filled response.

They posted on social media using Fabrizio Romano’s “Here We Go” phrase. Atletico offered concert tickets, sunflower seeds, and an ABC newspaper subscription to sign Lamine Yamal. That was a clear dig at Florentino Perez. Then came more posts. One claimed an offer for Pedri. Another “announced” Raphinha joining Atleti on loan, in exchange for loaning Tom Ford and Smith with no buy option.

Atletico finished the bit with one last joke. They denied ever making an offer to Barca director Deco to join their scouting team.

But the jokes stopped minutes later. Atletico switched to a direct attack. They accused Barcelona of trying to unsettle players, leaking information, showing disrespect, and dragging up the Negreira case. That case is still ongoing. Barcelona are under investigation for paying millions of euros over several years to the former vice president of the refereeing committee while he was in office.

“No, Atletico de Madrid would never do something like that. However, over the past few months, we have been subjected to a relentless smear campaign against one of our players,” a post on social media read.

“Calculated leaks, fake news, constant disrespect, the cule version of the propaganda machine inventing little stories, phone calls before head-to-head clashes… But of course, it would never occur to us either to have the vice president of the referees on the payroll or to rely on political favours to register players. RESPECT and VALUES.”
