Atletico Madrid are said to have agreed a fee with Wolves to sign Joao Gomes when the season ends.

Since arriving from Flamengo for £15 million in January 2023, Gomes has been a standout performer for the Old Gold.

Operating as a relentless ball-winner and a force going forward, the 25-year-old has developed into one of the Premier League’s top defensive midfielders.

With Wolves going down, they’re set to lose key players like Gomes, who is now close to completing a transfer to Atletico Madrid.

Sky Sports reports that Atletico Madrid have agreed a £39m, around €45m, deal for Gomes. The club is now working to complete the move when the transfer window opens next month.
