Ajax will play their Eredivisie play-off matches away from the Johan Cruyff ArenA after Harry Styles’ ‘Together, Together’ tour took over the stadium.

Following a 0-0 draw with Heerenveen on Sunday, Ajax secured a place in the play-offs for a spot in the UEFA Conference League. Their semifinal against FC Groningen is set for Thursday, May 21st, but it won’t be held in Amsterdam.

Harry Styles is scheduled for 10 shows at the Johan Cruyff ArenA from May 16th to June 5th. Concerts on May 20th and May 23rd fall one night before Ajax’s play-off fixtures, making it impossible for the club to use their home ground.

Ajax will instead host their play-off matches at FC Volendam’s Kras Stadion. The ground is a 36-minute bus ride from Amsterdam and holds 6,800 fans, which is almost 50,000 fewer than the Johan Cruyff ArenA’s capacity of 56,120.

There’s an extra scheduling twist because FC Volendam are also in the play-offs. While Ajax are chasing European qualification, the club from the fishing town are battling to avoid relegation. Volendam face Willem II on Wednesday, May 20th in Tilburg and again on Saturday, May 23rd in Volendam.

Ajax meet FC Groningen in the play-off semifinals on Thursday, May 21st at 18:45 CET.
