The CBF announced Thursday that Carlo Ancelotti has extended his contract for four more years, keeping the Italian in charge of Brazil through the 2030 World Cup.
Ancelotti took over in May 2025 after leaving Real Madrid, and the extension comes less than a month before the 2026 tournament kicks off.
“A year ago, I arrived in Brazil and realised what football means to this country. We are working to bring the national team back to the top of the world, but both the CBF and I want more.
“We are very happy to announce that we will continue together until the 2030 World Cup,“ said Ancelotti.
Ancelotti has overseen 10 games with Brazil, posting 5 wins, 2 draws, and 3 losses. The team has scored 18 goals and let in 8 during that span.
CBF president Samir Xaud described the extension as a “historic day,” saying that keeping the coaching staff in place is part of a long-term plan for Brazilian football.
“This renewal is another strong step in our commitment to provide the national team with an increasingly strong, modern, and competitive structure. We are working to keep Brazil at the highest level,” said the president.
