The Man United midfielder capped a standout season with the league’s top individual award after helping United secure Champions League qualification.

Fernandes finishes with 20 assists and 132 chances created as he wins Player of the Season and adds to his FWA and Sir Matt Busby awards...

Fernandes matched the league record with 20 assists and added 8 goals across the campaign. His performances helped United finish third and secure a spot in next season’s Champions League.

The 31-year-old beat out a strong shortlist that included Arsenal’s Gabriel, David Raya, and Declan Rice, Manchester City’s Erling Haaland and Antoine Semenyo, Nottingham Forest’s Morgan Gibbs-White, and Brentford’s Igor Thiago.

Fernandes stood out as the league’s top creator, registering 132 chances created this season. That put him well ahead of second-placed Dominik Szoboszlai of Liverpool, who had 89.

His individual haul continued off the back of the award. Earlier this month he won the Football Writers’ Association Men’s Player of the Year, and he also collected Manchester United’s Sir Matt Busby Player of the Year honor for the fifth time.
