England winger Anthony Gordon is set for a medical in Barcelona on Thursday ahead of a potential 80 million euro transfer to the Spanish champions, according to reports in the British press.

Footage aired by Sky Sports showed the 25-year-old boarding a private jet, with the broadcaster saying an official announcement could follow on Friday or over the weekend.

The Newcastle attacker is coming off his most productive campaign, scoring 17 goals in all competitions. That included 10 in 12 Champions League matches, and he has also been named in England’s squad for the World Cup.

Gordon signed a long-term contract extension in October 2024 and still has four years remaining on the deal he originally signed when joining from Everton in January 2023, per media reports.

Newcastle’s failure to qualify for Europe after finishing 12th in the Premier League could open the door for his exit.

Eddie Howe acknowledged earlier this month that Gordon may have already played his last game for Newcastle after Bayern Munich showed interest, and Barcelona subsequently moved in.
