Minnesota Timberwolves star Anthony Edwards is listed as questionable for Monday’s Game 1 against the San Antonio Spurs due to a left knee injury.
Edwards picked up the bone bruise after hyperextending his left knee on an awkward landing in Game 4 of the first round vs Denver. He sat out the final two games as Minnesota closed out the series.
According to ESPN, Edwards did a light workout over the weekend and made the trip to San Antonio. Sources told the network there’s “growing optimism” he could play at some point in the second round.

The injury adds to a right knee issue that already kept him out late in the regular season.
If Edwards suits up this week, it’d be a major lift for Minnesota as they face Victor Wembanyama and the No. 2 seed Spurs.
The Timberwolves are already out Donte DiVincenzo for the rest of the playoffs after he tore his right Achilles in the same Game 4 where Edwards got hurt.
Guard Ayo Dosunmu is also questionable for Monday with a sore right calf. Dosunmu dropped 43 points in Minnesota’s Game 3 win over Denver.
