VPS Edge Ilves 3-2 to Claim First Win of 2026
Last season’s third-placed side have taken just one point from their first four matches this term. Ilves left themselves too much to do after a perfect first half from VPS, who held on for a first league win of 2026.
The game was only four minutes old when Vilmer Ronnberg fired the hosts ahead from a scrappy corner. VPS doubled the lead after 27 minutes when Jonathan Muzinga charged down Faris Krkalic’s attempted clearance and tapped into an empty net.
VPS’ third proved crucial, arriving in first-half added time when Jayden Turfkruier teed up Simon Lindholm. It mattered, because Ilves fought back after the break. Jardell Kanga converted a penalty five minutes in, before Oskari Multala scored from a corner just after the hour.
The Vaasa side shut up shop for the final 30 minutes to see out the win, a result that lifts them into the top half for now on five points. Ilves sit 11th with one point.
TPS Snatch Late Point to Stay Unbeaten in 1-1 Draw With Gnistan
TPS are enjoying life back in the top flight. They sit third and remain unbeaten thanks to a 94th-minute equaliser that denied Gnistan a first win of the campaign. The Helsinki side at least claimed a first point, but they still prop up the table.
Adeleke Akinyemi shrugged off the last defender to reach a long clearance from goalkeeper Alexandro Craninx, rounded the TPS keeper, and rolled the ball over the line to give the visitors a 70th-minute lead.

That looked to be that, until deep into stoppage time when Timo Zaal threaded a pass to Samuel Anini. From the left side of the area, he guided the ball into the far bottom corner in style to snatch the draw.
Wekstrom Screamer Not Enough as SJK and Jaro Share Points in 1-1 Draw
A goal-of-the-season contender came 10 minutes into the match in Seinajoki. Luka Wekstrom cut in from the left, took aim from 35 yards, and sent an absolute rocket into the top corner to give Jaro the lead.
Winless Jaro had to settle for a third straight draw thanks to an early second-half equaliser. Elias Mastokangas picked out Jeremiah Streng to score his second of the season for SJK, who sit a point and a place ahead of Jaro in the table with just one win so far.
