AC Oulu top the Veikkausliiga with three wins from three after edging VPS...
AC Oulu and TPS maintained their strong starts to the Veikkausliiga campaign, as HJK claimed bragging rights in the Helsinki derby thanks to a Teemu Pukki brace and KuPS dropped points away at Jaro.
HJK Take Derby Honours at Gnistan
HJK managed just four points from four Helsinki derbies last season, including two defeats. But after February’s Liiga Cup win, they underlined their capital-city dominance with a 3-0 victory at Mustapekka Areena.
The breakthrough arrived on the stroke of half-time when Lucas Lingman’s delivery was turned in by Teemu Pukki for his second goal of the season. Seven minutes after the restart, the veteran forward showed he’s lost none of his speed - latching onto David Ezeh’s long clearance, rounding the keeper, and slotting home to seal his brace.

Mihailo Bogicevic added a third with 11 minutes left - his first goal for the club - to cap a comfortable afternoon. It’s a second win of the season for HJK as they bounced back from last week’s defeat at AC Oulu, while Gnistan remain pointless.
KuPS Rescued Late at Jaro
Champions KuPS dropped points for the first time this season, needing a 90th-minute leveller to snatch a 1-1 draw at Jaro. The hosts have now recorded back-to-back draws but are still searching for their first win.

Jaro looked set for a shock result when the referee penalised a handball in the area and Rudi Vikstrom calmly sent the keeper the wrong way from the spot on 40 minutes.
But KuPS denied them at the death. In the 90th minute, Petteri Pennanen picked out Jaime Moreno, who finished for his third goal of the campaign to ensure the points were shared.
Oulu Stay Perfect After Red Card Turns Game
AC Oulu sit top as the only side with a perfect nine points from nine, but the surprise leaders needed a key call to fall their way midway through the second half. VPS defender Martti Haukioja was shown a straight red for hauling back Julius Korkko.
