Bayern Munich staged an incredible late comeback to beat Manchester United 2-1 at home, securing a 5-3 aggregate win and a spot in the women's Champions League semi-finals. The Germans were trailing until a thrilling late double turned the match around.


Melvine Malard's early goal had United looking like they'd make history as the first English side to win in Munich, with the match seemingly headed for extra time. However, Bayern Munich's determination paid off with two quick goals, sealing their place in the semis.


Bayern Munich broke through with a late surge, scoring two goals in the final 10 minutes through Glodis Viggosdottir and Linda Dallmann, to turn the tie around. The Germans had dominated possession and chances since Melvine Malard's early opener, but it took a late burst to secure their win.


The result ends Manchester United's hopes of a first Champions League semi-final appearance, while Bayern sets up a likely meeting with title favourites Barcelona. United had threatened to make history, but Bayern's experience and firepower ultimately told.


Bayern Munich had a strong advantage heading into the second leg, thanks to their 3-2 win at Old Trafford, led by Pernille Harder's double. However, Manchester United struck early in the return leg, with Melvine Malard capitalizing on a Bayern defensive error to level the tie in the 11th minute.

Bayern Munich will play in the Champions League semi-finals for the first time since 2021 after beating Manchester United. They'll likely face Spanish giants Barcelona, who've been dominating the competition.


Barcelona's a tough opponent - they've made the past five Champions League finals, winning three. They thipped Real Madrid 6-2 in their quarter-final first leg and face the return match on Thursday.
