Struggling Brondby smash six past Sonderjyske to end winless run...

After managing just one goal in 11 matches, Brondby finally rediscovered their scoring touch on Friday night as they thrashed Sonderjyske 6-0 in front of a delirious crowd in Copenhagen.

Brondby returned to winning ways on Friday night after a disastrous spell that left them sixth in the Danish Superliga, hitting six unanswered goals to beat Sonderjyske at home.

After VAR ruled out Brondby’s opening goal for offside in the 14th minute, the hosts went ahead in the 25th when Mats Köhlert headed Sho Fukuda’s long cross back across the face of goal, where Jacob Ambaek left Sonderjyske keeper Nicolai Flo helpless with a well-placed header.

Brondby then doubled the lead against the defensive-minded visitors with a similar move when Köhlert again turned provider for Ambaek, who had the simple task of poking it over the line.

Five minutes before the break, Brondby made it 3-0 when a mis-hit effort from Fukuda fell to Nicolai Vallys, who had no trouble finding the net.

The rout continued eight minutes into the second half as Ambaek completed his hat-trick. Mads Frøkjaer floated a long ball to the back post, and Ambaek met it with a superbly timed volley past Flo.

Then, in the 57th minute, Ben Godfrey was left unmarked inside the Sonderjyske box to make it 5-0 before Fukuda capped a superb performance. Frokjaer split the Sonderjyske defence with a brilliant pass, and Fukuda found space to the left of Flo to round off the 6-0 win.
