Liverpool to stick with Arne Slot despite poor league form. 47-year-old under fire but club knows situation, he says.
Slot won PL in debut season but now fifth, 15 points off Arsenal. Still set to stay. UCL qualification likely with Chelsea seven back...
Liverpool manager Arne Slot is reportedly set to remain with the Merseyside club as calls for the Dutchman’s exit gain traction.
After winning the Premier League in his debut season on Merseyside, the 47-year-old has been under fire this season for failing to keep pace with the league’s top sides. The Reds sit fifth, 15 points behind leaders Arsenal.
According to Sky Sports, Arne Slot is set to stay at Liverpool despite underperforming in the league and going trophyless this season. The seven-point gap over Chelsea has Liverpool well placed to qualify for the League Phase of next season’s UEFA Champions League.
Liverpool legend Jamie Carragher said on Sky Sports’ Monday Night Football that it looks like the Dutchman will stay put.
“There's probably a split in the Liverpool supporters over whether he should stay or go, but the noises I am hearing is Slot will be the Liverpool manager next season if they can secure Champions League qualification, which they look like doing right now,” he said during the broadcast.

Earlier in April, Slot said he still felt full support from both the board and the fans: “Everyone at the club knows the situation we’re in, but I still feel their full support. Strange as it may sound, I still feel a lot of support from the fans too,” he said during a pre-match press conference ahead of facing Fulham on April 11.
