Newcastle Shake-Up: Wissa, Tonali Could Leave, Howe Future Doubt
| Wissa eyes fresh start |
Newcastle accept huge loss on Yoane Wissa, signed for £55m last summer. Spurs, Villa, Forest interested with Saudi move also possible for 29-yo.
Signed after Alexander Isak left for Liverpool, Yoane Wissa could leave Newcastle already. Club targeting squad refresh to meet financial rules...
Aston Villa, Tottenham Hotspur and Nottingham Forest are tracking Yoane Wissa ahead of a probable summer move away from Newcastle United.
The forward joined from Brentford last summer for £55 million, but his stint on Tyneside hasn’t worked out.
Wissa has scored only three goals in all competitions, with injuries hampering his start before a long run of poor form reduced his chances in the starting XI.
Newcastle are now willing to listen to offers for the 28-year-old and accept they’ll take a big financial hit. Getting the full fee back is unlikely, with the striker potentially available for about half what they paid.
Wissa, 29, is believed to be open to a fresh start, with consistent first-team minutes the priority. A move abroad is a real possibility.
Newcastle United will explore selling Yoane Wissa in the summer, less than a year after signing him for a fee rising to £55million.

Aston Villa, Spurs and Nottingham Forest were all keen on Wissa before he left Brentford, and the three clubs have been made aware he could be available this summer.
A move to Saudi Arabia is also a genuine option if he doesn’t stay in the Premier League.
Wissa arrived with Nick Woltemade after Alexander Isak joined Liverpool. But a poor season has forced Newcastle into a rethink.
Midfielder Sandro Tonali is drawing serious interest and looks set to be a marquee exit this summer, while Eddie Howe’s future is also unclear as the club weighs big changes.
Newcastle’s recruitment staff have already started planning a squad overhaul. Financial regulations are also a factor, giving the club extra motivation to offload players.
