Hearts mounted an incredible comeback, scoring twice in the dying minutes to beat Motherwell 3-1 and stay in contention for their first league title in 66 years.

Trailing early in the second half at Tynecastle, the Jambos fought back to keep pace with Celtic in the Scottish Premiership.

Celtic stay three points behind the leaders after a tough 1-0 win over St. Mirren, while Rangers are four points off top with a game in hand at Falkirk.

Hearts have led the Scottish Premiership for most of the season, chasing a first title outside Celtic/Rangers in 41 years.

Hearts' lead has slipped recently after a four‑game winless away run.

But strong form at Tynecastle keeps them ahead going into the final five games, when the league splits and the top six fight for the title.

Emmanuel Longelo opened the scoring five minutes into the second period, putting Motherwell in a position to break Hearts' unbeaten home record for the season.

Claudio Braga equalised with an overhead kick on the hour mark, levelling the game after Motherwell's early second‑half lead.

Captain Lawrence Shankland stayed calm and converted a penalty in the 87th minute, awarded after on‑loan Celtic defender Stephen Welsh fouled Landry Kabore.

Landry Kabore then completed the scoring in stoppage time, sealing the win for Hearts.

Celtic's title hopes hang in the balance after a string of unimpressive displays, but they're still in the hunt for a 14th league crown in 15 years.

Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain's lone goal was enough to see off struggling St. Mirren, keeping Celtic in contention.

Celtic have the upper hand going into the final stretch, with home games against Rangers and Hearts upcoming.

A perfect record in their remaining five games will likely secure the title for them.
