Carlos Alcaraz awaits “crucial” wrist test results before deciding on French Open defense...
World No. 2 Carlos Alcaraz said he is waiting on test results for his injured wrist before deciding whether he can defend his French Open title next month.
The seven-time Grand Slam champion suffered the injury in the first round of the Barcelona Open earlier this month and withdrew from the event.
Scans revealed the issue was more serious than first believed, and he later withdrew from the Madrid Open.

“The next test will be crucial,” Alcaraz told Spanish television channel TVE.
“We have a few tests in the next few days and then we will see how the injury is, and what the next steps will be,” the 22-year-old added.
Alcaraz, named Sportsman of the Year at the Laureus Awards on Monday, lost the world No. 1 ranking to Jannik Sinner after falling to the Italian in the Monte Carlo Masters final days before his Barcelona opener.
