Ajax returned to winning ways with a comfortable 3-0 victory over Heracles Almelo, securing their third Eredivisie win in two months after a disappointing loss to FC Twente.
Oscar Gloukh and Ko Itakura led the charge, with Itakura making a welcome return after two months out with injury, helping Ajax climb back up the table.
Ajax started strong, taking the lead in the opening 15 minutes through Mika Godts, who lobbed the ball over Remko Pasveer after a great pass from Jorthy Mokio.
Steven Berghuis doubled Ajax's lead with a powerful shot into Pasveer's far corner, capping off a slick attacking move on the edge of the Heracles box.
A quiet last half of the first half saw Ajax comfortably lead 2-0 at the break, with neither team threatening much.
Ajax started the second half with a bang, with Steven Berghuis scoring his second goal – a cool finish in a counter-attack – making it 3-0 and putting the game to bed.

Youri Baas was the hero for the away fans, making an acrobatic clearance off the line to deny Heracles a consolation goal.
The woodwork denied Heracles twice in the second half, with Remko Pasveer also getting a hand to Wout Weghorst's effort, and Mika Godts hitting the post.
Heracles almost got a lifeline, but Takehiro Tomiyasu's red card (14 minutes after coming on) scruched that hope – he fouled Lequincio Zeefuik as the last man, leaving Ajax 3-0 up with 10 men.
Ajax held on to secure a 3-0 win, claiming their third Eredivisie victory in two months and staying in the hunt for second place and a Champions League spot.
