Orioles flip the script, eight unanswered runs sink Diamondbacks 9-7...
The Baltimore Orioles rattled off eight unanswered runs Monday night to pull off a stunning comeback win against the Arizona Diamondbacks.
Ketel Marte and Nolan Arenado had Arizona up 7-1 going into the bottom of the sixth before the game completely turned.
After a one-out RBI single from Leody Taveras plated Pete Alonso to cut it to 7-2, Colton Cowser drew a walk to load the bases.
Infielder Jeremiah Jackson, who homered on Saturday, then crushed a grand slam to pull the Orioles within one. With Baltimore down 7-6 in the bottom of the seventh, star Pete Alonso launched his second homer of the season to push the Orioles in front 8-7.
For good measure, Jackson stepped up again and launched his second homer of the night, locking in a 9-7 Orioles win over the Diamondbacks. Baltimore improves to 9-7 and now sits alone atop the AL East.
The Diamondbacks dropped to 9-8 and have lost two of their last three, leaving them third in the NL West.
Game 2 of the three-game set between Arizona and Baltimore is set for April 14 at 6:35 p.m. ET.
