| Chelsea's FA Cup run continues, thrashing of Port Vale |
Chelsea crush Port Vale 7-0, booking their spot in the FA Cup semi-finals. Blues storm into FA Cup semis with dominant win over League One side.
Chelsea dominate, 7-0 win over Port Vale...
Chelsea absolutely dominated Port Vale, thrashing them 7-0 to book their spot in the FA Cup semi-finals! This win marks their seventh straight FA Cup quarter-final success since their defeat to Everton back in 2016. The Blues were too strong for League One's bottom side, showcasing their superiority at Stamford Bridge.
Port Vale had a tough task ahead, having just knocked out Premier League Sunderland to reach the quarter-finals for the first time since 1953/54. Despite their impressive run, they couldn't match up to the world champions.
These two sides hadn't met in 97 years, but the wait was worth it – the Blues were on fire early on! Jorrel Hato gave Chelsea the lead, thrashing a loose ball from a corner into the ground and past Joe Gauci.
The opener marked a record 49th straight match with an FA Cup goal at home against lower-league opposition for Chelsea. The game was low-key until then, but Liam Rosenior's side shocked everyone by doubling their lead after 20 minutes
Pedro Neto was contained, but he managed to wriggled clear of his marker, squaring for João Pedro to score his eighth FA Cup goal in as many appearances with excellent composure. Chelsea was in cruise control, and they made it three before halftime. A neat one-two between Malo Gusto and Pedro opened up the visitors, allowing Gusto to drive a low shot at goal that was parried kindly for Cole Palmer to turn in via the unfortunate Jordan Lawrence-Gabriel.

The pattern of play was unchanged after the restart, with Estevao stroking a first-time effort onto the post early in the second period.
Port Vale’s second-half resistance did last longer than their first, but with 57 minutes on the clock, Chelsea added to their lead when Tosin Adarabioyo met Gusto’s cross with a towering header that left Gauci with no chance.

Estevao's strike hit the opposite post, but he soon made up for it. His corner was nodded home by an unmarked Andrey Santos at the back post, making it 5-0. Estevao got his goal, staying onside to tap in a rebound after Alejandro Garnacho hit the woodwork.
The scoring was wrapped up by Garnacho, who was brought down in the box by Tyler Magloire. He stepped up to convert from the spot, sealing the win for Chelsea.

Chelsea have advanced to the FA Cup semi-finals at Wembley, marking a routine win for the Blues. This victory means they've made it through all 38 cup ties against lower-league sides since 2015/16.
Port Vale, on the other hand, had an impressive FA Cup run, living up to their 'Valiants' nickname. However, their campaign has ended, and fans are now bracing for likely relegation to the fourth tier. This is due to their poor league performance, with only seven wins from 38 games this season (D10, L21).
