The Blazers’ late surge sends the Suns to a final play-in clash vs Golden State or the Clippers...

A brilliant 41-point performance from Israeli forward Deni Avdija powered the Portland Trail Blazers to a 114-110 upset over the seventh-seeded Phoenix Suns in Tuesday’s Western Conference play-in game.

Phoenix appeared set for a first-round playoff matchup with the San Antonio Spurs after opening an eight-point lead with just over three minutes left in the fourth quarter.

But a stunning late surge from Portland, capped by a 17-5 run to finish the game, means the Suns now face either the Golden State Warriors or Los Angeles Clippers in the last play-in round to reach the playoffs.

Avdija got support from Jrue Holiday with 21 points, while Jerami Grant chipped in 16 off the bench.

Jalen Green paced Phoenix with 35 points, and Devin Booker added 22.
