Strasbourg made it to the UECL quarter-finals, overcoming a Rijeka scare with a 1-1 draw at home (3-2 aggregate). Le Racing's last UEFA quarter-final appearance was in 1995.
Like the first leg, Strasbourg dominated early on, creating plenty of chances.
Abdoul Ouattara went close twice before the 15-minute mark but failed to hit the target both times. First, he flashed a shot past the post, then his mishit shot sailed wide.
Despite Strasbourg looking comfortable, they were hit with a sucker punch midway through the first half. Rijeka cut through the hosts with ease - a patient team move ended with Amer Gojak breaking towards the byline, and his cutback was swept home by Toni Fruk, who netted his fifth goal in six appearances.
Strasbourg went into half-time disappointed with their first-half performance, and the tie was finely poised with their initial 2-1 lead wiped out. Julio Enciso had opportunities, but it wasn't enough to change the scoreboard.
The French side came out fighting after the restart, and had the ball in the back of the net inside five minutes - but Joaquun Panichelli was offside when he nodded home.
The Strasbourg striker was growing into the game and had another chance to level things on the hour mark, but struggled to connect with Ismael Doukoure's cross into the area.

The pressure from Strasbourg finally paid off with just over a quarter-hour left. Nanasi created space inside the box, and his low pass to the front post was brilliantly turned in by Valentin Barco.
That goal was enough for Strasbourg to claim the aggregate win, setting up a quarter-final tie against Mainz. Rijeka's historic run comes to an end.
