| Tottenham's Igor Tudor urges team to face pressure |
Tottenham interim boss Igor Tudor urges his team to face relegation battle pressure head-on as they host Crystal Palace in a crucial Premier League clash.
Igor Tudor's Tottenham must start picking up points to avoid relegation danger...
Igor Tudor's urging Tottenham to “stand up” and face the pressure of their relegation battle. The interim boss knows it's crucial for his team to accept the challenge and show some grit against Crystal Palace on Thursday night.
Tottenham's situation is precarious, sitting 16th in the Premier League with just four points above the relegation zone. Their winless streak stretches back 10 games, and a loss to Palace would only exacerbate their troubles. Tudor's aware of the stakes, emphasizing his players need to take responsibility and believe they can turn things around.
Tottenham's Injury Crisis Deepens
Igor Tudor's side is facing a tough time with injuries, adding to their existing woes. Djed Spence is out with a calf injury, joining Destiny Udogie and Dejan Kulusevski on the sidelines. Other absent players include Wilson Odobert (knee), James Maddison (ACL), Rodrigo Bentancur (hamstring), Mohammed Kudus (thigh), Ben Davies (ankle), and Lucas Bergvall (ankle).
“Djed Spence is out. Kevin (Danso) came back in the last game. (Udogie and Kulusevski?) No other news.
“(When will Spence be back?) We hope for the Champions League game.”
Fans Are Key Now
Tottenham's fans are crucial now - the team's in a tough spot, 16th in the table with just four points above the drop zone. They've had some luck with teams below them dropping points, but that won't last forever.
On needing the supporters to pick up the club’s poor form, Tudor said: “Very important. The players feel everything. Every bit of applause and encouragement. The fans can feel that on the pitch and how the energy is spreading.”
Points Are a Must
Igor Tudor knows Tottenham needs points urgently - four straight losses in the Premier League have pushed them to 16th. He says his team must start winning or the drop zone's going to be a real concern.
"Everyone understands the situation. There is something wrong if you don't understand. My job is to put the pressure away, but their job is to accept the pressure is there.
“So the pressure is everywhere, but you need to love this job. There's real pressure out there. People need to make money for their families and working in jobs like doctors who are doing operations, and they decide about life and death, so that's the real pressure.”
“It's all about three points.”

“You need to be ready to accept this and stand up. You can do this, don't stay behind. Take responsibility, have the courage to confront these things. This is the best way to do it, the only way to do it.”
“I hope we have, and I'm sure, because I saw in the training that we have the players to step up, take responsibility and make us start putting in, first of all good performances, and after also winning points.”
