Como win 2-1 at Cagliari, Martin Baturina and Da Cunha on target...
Como's flying high after snatching a 2-1 win at Cagliari. They're just three points off a Champions League spot with 11 games to go – Europe's definitely in sight!
Como hit Cagliari running, eager to grab a result that'd keep their European dreams alive.
And while they needed a bit more time than usual to get going, the Lariani pounced and drew first blood shortly before the quarter-hour mark.
Lucas Da Cunha produced a defence-piercing pass in the penalty area, allowing Martin Baturina the space to fire in a first-time effort that found the bottom-left corner of a helpless Elia Caprile’s net.
Cagliari pushed back hard after conceding, Michel Adopo's rebound effort testing Como's nerves. But goalkeeper Jean Butez was on fire, pulling off a stunning save to keep Como ahead.
Despite not being active in front of goal throughout the opening half, Cagliari emphatically equalised 10 minutes after the restart.
Expertly assisted by Adam Obert, Sebastiano Esposito continued his fine run of form since joining on a season-long loan from Inter Milan, dropping down low to the pitch to head home the Slovak defender’s delightful delivery beyond Butez – his 10th goal contribution (five goals and assists apiece) in the famous red and blue.
Nevertheless, following another quiet period in the game, Como were able to restore their slender advantage with 14 minutes left of regular time.

Leading by example, 'Captain Fantastic' Da Cunha transformed himself from a provider to a goalscorer with an unbelievable long-range rocket that flew straight into the top corner, leaving Caprile with absolutely no chance.
Como's road win puts them level with Roma on points, head-to-heads are keeping them out of the top 4 for now.
